Overview
The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for managing the preparation and distribution of financial statements for internal/external use. This position ensures that all documentation complies with company's regulations and professional standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure monthly financial statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
- Recaps and analyzes business results versus plan and forecast on a monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc basis;
- Supports the annual budgeting and quarterly forecast process, providing strategic financial leadership to the business while updating and enhancing existing tools to increase the business unit ease of use;
- Analyzes financial, operational, and accounting data for the development of reports to be delivered to various business segments;
- Performs ad-hoc analysis for support strategy discussions, decisions, business initiatives and special projects;
- Supports reporting and analytics such as KPI’s, metrics, financial reports and creating & improving dashboards;
- Provides metrics and KPI’s that improve the key drivers of operations and enable effective management, decision-making and execution;
- Perform analysis, financial planning and provide recommendations to senior management to achieve strategic goals;
- Performs ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required to support the business and its leaders;
- Assists with reviewing, updating, creating finance and accounting policies and procedures;
- Builds ad-hoc projections and provides decision support to leadership;
- Provides outside the box thinking on analysis and process improvements;
- Performs other required tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field;
- Excellent data presentation skills;
- Strong accounting and analytical skills;
- Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint;
- Knowledge of SAP (BW/BI, CO and LUMIRA) preferred;
- Minimum 3 years prior experience in Finance;
- Solid understanding of GAAP;
- Able to research complex accounting transactions and communicate applicable accounting guidance;
- Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task efficiently and manage individuals;
- Detail oriented, with high level of trust, integrity and collaboration;
- Must be willing to develop and grow with the company and have the desire to take on more responsibility.
