Director of Sales – West

 Territory Includes: Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Alaska & Hawaii

  • To maximize time with your team, you'll be based within the assigned territory and live near a major commercial airport, allowing for efficient travel throughout the region. This role requires approximately 50% travel, primarily within your assigned territory, with occasional travel for company meetings and events

Position Summary
As the Director of Sales, you will have the opportunity to lead a high-performing regional sales team while shaping the future growth of one of the industry's most respected premium brands. What You’ll Do
Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team

  • Inspire, coach, and develop a team of Territory Sales Managers to achieve their full potential.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement through regular coaching and feedback.
  • Spend meaningful time in the field alongside your team, providing hands-on coaching and support.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop top sales talent while building a strong leadership pipeline.

Drive Business Growth

  • Lead the regional sales strategy to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.
  • Identify growth opportunities across existing customers, new distribution, and strategic market segments.
  • Use forecasting, pipeline management, and business analytics to make informed decisions and drive consistent execution.
  • Partner with your team to develop and execute territory plans that deliver sustainable results.

Build Strong Customer Partnerships

  • Develop trusted relationships with key dealer partners and strategic customers throughout your region.
  • Support your team in navigating complex opportunities, negotiations, and high-impact customer engagements.
  • Represent Festool at customer meetings, industry events, and regional sales activities.

Collaborate Across the Organization

  • Partner with Marketing, Product Management, Customer Experience, Finance, and Operations to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Share customer insights that influence product strategy, commercial initiatives, and future growth opportunities.
  • Help shape the direction of the North American sales organization by contributing ideas that improve execution and performance.

Lead Through Influence

  • Create an environment where people feel empowered to make decisions, solve problems, and continuously improve.
  •  Communicate clear expectations while recognizing achievements and celebrating team success.
  • Lead by example through integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to developing others



Qualifications

Minimum requirements to competently perform the key responsibilities of this job in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Basic Rquirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, finance, engineering, or related field 
  • 7+years’ experience in sales, marketing, or similar field 
  • 3+ years’ experience managing and leading a team of direct reports 
  • Ability to travel up to 50% 
  • Ability to lift up to 75lb

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Previous experience working with a dealer distribution network 
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Previous experience using a CRM system (SAP preferred) 
  • Highly motivated, self-driven individual with the ability to work without daily guidance 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail 
  • Ability to collaborate in a team-based environment, providing excellent customer service to employees and all stakeholders 
  • Interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communication both verbally and in writing 
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines and targets 
  • Exhibits awareness of best sales practices and methods
