DISTRIBUTION CENTER ASSOCIATE for Systainer -
The Distribution Center Associate accurately and efficiently supports the complete fulfillment process, including picking, packing, shipping, assembly, put-away, and replenishment. This position verifies item and quantity accuracy, protects product from damage, maintains accurate system records, and works collaboratively to meet customer and operational requirements.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Order Picking and Material Movement
· Read pick tickets or electronic work instructions to identify the correct items, quantities, and storage locations.
· Accurately select product and confirm item numbers and quantities.
· Sort and place materials safely and neatly on picking carts or pallets.
· Move materials between storage, picking, packing, assembly, and shipping areas.
Packing and Shipping
· Sort, scan, and pack parcel or freight orders in appropriately sized cartons or on pallets.
· Verify product counts and ensure items are packed securely to prevent damage during transit.
· Include the required paperwork and apply the correct shipping labels and handling markings.
· Monitor completed parcels to confirm they are properly sealed, labeled, documented, and stacked efficiently without damage.
· Enter or verify shipment information in company systems and route completed shipments to the appropriate staging area.
Assembly, Put-Away, and Replenishment
· Assemble or kit multiple items according to work instructions; label, seal, stack, and record completed builds in the WMS or ERP system.
· Sort and place incoming or returned products in the correct storage locations according to item number and assigned location.
· Replenish picking locations from reserve stock using carts or approved material-handling equipment, confirming accurate piece counts.
Equipment Operation
Forklift, reach-truck, pallet-jack, and other material-handling equipment operation may be required based on business needs. Employees may operate equipment only after receiving the required training and authorization.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED.
· Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal directions.
· Ability to accurately compare item numbers, quantities, labels, and shipping documents.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and spend significant time standing and walking.
· Ability to work safely, dependably, and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications
· One or more years of warehouse, distribution, fulfillment, or related experience.
· Experience with picking, packing, parcel shipping, freight preparation, assembly, put-away, or replenishment.
· Experience using ERP, WMS, shipping, barcode-scanning, or inventory systems.
· Forklift, reach-truck, or other material-handling equipment certification or experience.
· Strong attention to detail and a customer-service mindset when working with employees and other stakeholders.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
· Regularly stand and walk for extended periods; occasionally sit.
· Frequently lift and carry product weighing up to 50 pounds and push or pull carts, pallets, and materials.
· Regularly reach, handle, grasp, and perform repetitive hand movements; occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or balance.
· Work primarily indoors in a warehouse environment with normal variations in temperature, noise, dust, and material-handling activity.
· Use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all posted safety requirements.
