Job Title: Facilities and Safety Specialist

Position Summary:

The Facilities & Safety Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and security of company facilities while ensuring compliance with OSHA requirements and workplace safety standards. This role ensures that buildings, utilities, and grounds are effectively maintained, while also providing safety training, inspections, and compliance oversight to protect employees and support a safe working environment.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage all aspects of facility operations, including building maintenance, utilities, energy management, equipment and furniture inventory, and groundskeeping.
  • Oversee repair, renovation, and construction projects, serving as the primary liaison with contractors and vendors.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the facilities budget, including capital and operating expenditures.
  • Implement and maintain facility security processes, coordinating with site leaders to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, and facility regulations.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Maintain and monitor SDS library, chemical inventory, and facility related asset inventory.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, job safety analyses, ergonomic workstation assessments, and audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, compliance activities, and Facilities & Safety KPIs; prepare and submit reports as required.
  • Investigate workplace incidents or near misses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage EAP, drills, and response activities, including evacuation, first aid, and disaster recovery.
  • Manage company fleet program and vehicle insurance in cooperation with the Fleet Administrator.
  • Manage vendor agreements for Safety & Facility services.
  • Communicate facility and safety information to employees, management, and stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate facilities and safety programs to identify improvements in efficiency, compliance, and employee well-being.

 

 

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Occupational Safety, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in facilities operations, safety management, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements.
  • Ability to manage building systems, vendors, and contractors.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a results-driven mindset.
  • Ability to be self-directed and take ownership with limited oversight.
  • Ability to travel (5% internationally & domestically) as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Safety-related professional certification (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP, ASP, SMS, or CSHM).
  • Experience in corporate or distribution environments.
  • Training as a first responder or EMT/paramedic (preferred but not required).
