POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Sales is the leader of a selling team comprised of Territory/Regional Sales Managers and is accountable for achieving the regional sales and profitability goals. This role provides direction and leadership to the field regional staff while responsible for the customer satisfaction and market share within the assigned region.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
•  Achieves the region’s revenue and profitability quotas for products as they are sold into all customer segments within region
•  Builds strong, trusting relationships with direct reports, colleagues, and customers
•  Provides quality leadership for internal & external customers in all assigned tasks, while always upholding company values, inclusive of constructive problem solving, facilitating creative improvements, and inspiring others
•  Establishes an environment and foundation for future sales growth
•  Takes an individual approach to leading direct reports by understanding their strengths & territory differences
•  Establishes standards & expectations within the team and ensures all team members meet or exceed them.
•  Identifies areas of improvement and efficiency gains and coaches each team member accordingly
•  Helps with overall planning, goal setting, communication and strategy implementation that’s focused on delivering budgeted results
•  Attracts, retains, and develops talent for assigned sales territories
•  Provides virtual & in-the-field coaching to help direct reports surpass their goals and reach their full potential
•  Addresses issues immediately and has difficult conversations when needed
•  Helps to prepare and participates in company sales meetings
•  Responsible for the Region’s forecasting and sales tracking
•  Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop regional sales team
•  Sells and teaches others how to sell value and solutions to Festool USA customers
•  Proactively prepares sales reports & analyzes sales statistics to assist Territory/Regional Sales Managers and dealers in promoting sales
•  Builds strong relationships with stakeholders of larger dealer accounts within region of responsibility
•  Represents company at trade association meetings and trade shows to promote product
•  Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives
•  Supports sales team with maintaining relationships, negotiating and closing deals
•  Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements
•  Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition
•  Manages effective sales budget for the region
•  Overnight travel of 30-40%

Non-Essential Functions:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum requirements to competently perform the key responsibilities of this job in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Basic Qualifications:
•  BS/BA degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field
•  10+years of sales, marketing, or similar field
•  4+ years managing a team of 4 or more people
•  High level of proficiency in Microsoft office suite
•  Highly motivated, self-driven individual with the ability to work without daily guidance
•  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
•  Previous experience managing and building a high performing and driven team
•  Ability to collaborate in a team-based environment, providing excellent customer service to employees and all stakeholders
•  Interpersonal skills, ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing
•  Ability to influence colleagues whom he/she has no supervisory authority over
•  Must be able to meet tight deadlines and targets
•  Experience and success selling products through retail distribution channel
•  Exhibits awareness of best sales practices and methods
•  Previous experience using a CRM system
•  Ability to lift up to 75lbs
•  Ability to travel both locally and globally, as necessary

Preferred Qualifications:
•  Previous experience working within the building/construction or paint industry

Position Location:
•  This position is based in the Northeast Region of the US
•  The Director of Sales – Northeast must reside within the region.
