Overview:

The Distribution Center Team Member will be able to operate in multiple functions for Systainer USA and Bott Smartvan. The successful candidate in this role will be adept at achieving deadlines, continuing to improve department performance, and completing other duties as assigned by the Team Lead or Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Requires the ability to learn, understand, and communicate Systainer Systems’ Procedures and SOPs
  • Forklift and/or other material handling equipment operation
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and be able to achieve a high level of accuracy
  • Packing (freight or parcel): sorts, scans and packs product into appropriate-sized shipping cartons or pallets, ensuring product counts are accurate, and product is packed in a damaged free manner with appropriate paperwork and shipping labels affixed to shipping unit.
    • Shipping Station: actively monitors packed parcel shipping cartons and LTL pallets, to ensure they are sealed properly with the correct labels and shipping documents and then stacked in an efficient, damage-free manner.
    • Assembly: repeatedly packs multiple items together into a kit that is labeled, sealed and stacked efficiently, and records the build in the WMS system.
    • Put-away: Sorts and places products in the correct locations according to item number and storage location.
    • Replenishment: utilizes reach truck or carts to move product from storage to picking locations insuring accurate piece count.
    • Inventory Control: demonstrates capacity to conduct location audit and bin audits to control shortages and overages. Able to effectively communicate discrepancies to Team Lead or Supervisor for review
  • Must demonstrate an unwavering capacity to investigate discrepancies and report them to the Manager, when necessary, adhere to a respectful workplace and uphold the integrity of the in-place processes
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet business and department demands.
  • Requires perseverance, a positive demeanor, and the ability to train and work well with others in and outside of the department and business units.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and productive work environment in compliance with OSHA and company directives, using safety first practices to remain accident-free.
  • Must be adaptable, flexible, and open to changing work requirements based on business and areas of needs.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to read and understand directions
  • Forklift and/or other material handling equipment certification
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly
  • Ability to spend significant time standing and walking
  • 12+ months of warehousing experience
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English
  • Must have the ability to communicate in an effective manner and practice good communication skills at all times.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using WMS Systems(s)
  • Ability to learn and train on all functions, receiving, put away, inventory control, picking, packing, loading
