POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Product Management (North America) leads the regional Product Management function for Festool North America, with responsibility for shaping and optimizing the North American product portfolio in alignment with global strategy. This role owns regional portfolio planning, lifecycle management, and performance oversight within the scope of North America’s commercial influence, ensuring the portfolio delivers against market needs and financial objectives. Global product development and core product management are driven by Headquarters. The Director serves as the senior regional liaison to HQ Product Management and R&D, representing the North American voice of customer, competitive dynamics, and commercial priorities to inform global roadmap and portfolio decisions. This role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure strong execution of portfolio initiatives, including demand and launch planning through the S&OP process. The Director leads cross functional launch readiness and commercialization planning, ensuring new products are positioned effectively and supported with the tools, training, and coordination required for successful market adoption. In addition, this role leads the North American Product Management team and the Product Sales & Training team, driving alignment between portfolio strategy, field readiness, and commercial execution. Intermittent travel required (~25%).

Essential Functions:

  •  Lead the Product Management function for Festool North America, establishing regional portfolio priorities, operating cadence, and team direction.
  •  Own regional portfolio planning and lifecycle management, including assortment optimization, product transitions, and end-of-life recommendations aligned with global roadmaps.
  •  Monitor and drive improvement of portfolio performance in North America through disciplined analysis, regional actions, and structured recommendations to HQ stakeholders.
  •  Serve as the senior liaison between North America and global Product Management and R&D, ensuring voice of customer insights, competitive dynamics, and commercial priorities are clearly represented in global planning and decision making.
  •  Lead structured voice of customer initiatives, including field engagement, customer interviews, workshops, and market research, translating insights into actionable inputs for global portfolio and roadmap discussions.
  •  Partner in the S&OP process to align portfolio direction, demand planning, and launch timing with revenue, margin, and growth objectives.
  •  Lead cross functional launch readiness and commercialization planning in partnership with Marketing and Sales, ensuring successful product introductions supported by positioning, training, and go-to-market coordination.
  •  Provide strategic input on pricing, positioning, and competitive strategy for the North American market in collaboration with global and regional stakeholders.
  •  Develop and lead the North American Product Management team, providing coaching, prioritization, and performance management.
  •  Lead the Product Sales & Training team, ensuring strong alignment between product strategy, field readiness, and commercial execution.
  •  Collaborate cross functionally with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations to execute portfolio initiatives and support business objectives.
  •  Provide executive-level reporting on portfolio health, key risks, and growth opportunities, escalating regional needs and recommendations appropriately.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by executive leadership.
  •  Represent Festool North America at industry events, customer forums, or internal global meetings as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or related field required. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
· ~8 years of progressive experience in product management, category management, or commercial leadership within a branded product organization. · Demonstrated experience managing a product portfolio or business segment with accountability for roadmap alignment, lifecycle planning, and go to market execution.
· Experience working cross functionally within a matrix organization, partnering with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance.
· Exposure to global product management or development teams, with experience representing regional market needs.
· Prior experience leading projects, initiatives, or small teams; direct people leadership experience preferred but not required.
· Strong analytical skills with experience using financial and market data to inform portfolio decisions.
· Willingness to travel domestically (~15%) and internationally (~10%) as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience within professional tools, durable goods, premium consumer products, or contractor focused industries.
· Experience in a regional subsidiary role partnering with global headquarters.
· Demonstrated success bringing voice of customer insights into product or portfolio decisions.
· Experience participating in S&OP processes or demand planning discussions.
· Prior leadership of product managers, category managers, or sales enablement teams.
· MBA or advanced degree in Business or related field.
· Track record of high performance within a branded organization and readiness to take on broader strategic and people leadership responsibility
Compensation:

  • 85% fixed / 15% variable (Bonus Factor: 2.5)
