POSITION SUMMARY
:

The primary function/purpose of this job.

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the department by providing a seamless and positive experience across the entire employee life cycle. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to; recruiting and hiring, benefits administration, maintaining personnel records, employee relations, performance management, and policy and procedure implementation. This role will assist with process improvement and provide support to employees to ensure compliance with applicable policies, programs, and processes.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Assist with the administration of employee benefits, annual open enrollment and processing qualifying life events. Act as internal staff consultant and employee point of contact for all benefit related inquiries.
  • Assist with the administration of leave programs including but not limited to FMLA, STD, LTD, and Parental Leave.
  • Recruits and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks, drug screens and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Assist in creating employee communications regarding HR initiatives.
  • Reviews vendor invoices to ensure quality controls.
  • Maintains Org Charts, Screencloud, and Sharepoint.
  • Handles requests for verification of employment information.
  • Performs system audits to ensure data consistency and creates reports utilizing the HCM system.
  • Oversees the set up and audits of the Unemployment Insurance for each state.
  • Completes documentation for Unemployment Claims requests, and other legal or employment related requests in a timely manner.
  • Complete offboarding process for all exiting employees.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Collaborates with the HR team on projects and/or tasks.
  • Supports the VP of HR and HR Manager on creating policies and/or processes to implement within the company.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Minimum requirements to competently perform the key responsibilities of this job in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Basic Requirements

•     Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

 

Preferred Qualifications

     3+ years’ experience in human resources

     1+ years’ experience with HR systems

  • Ability to collaborate in a team-based environment, providing excellent customer service to employees and all stakeholders
  • Interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communication both verbally and in writing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of labor policies such as ADA, FLSA, & EEO
  • Highly motivated, self-driven individual with the ability to work without daily guidance
  • SHRM or HRCI accreditation is a plus
