Overview

 

The Graphic Designer performs design, layout and development of visual materials for use in internal and external Festool marketing materials with an emphasis on videography and photography.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Innovate new and exciting visual designs that capture the target market’s attention and sell them on essential aspects of the product;
  • Uses a wide variety of photography and videography techniques when designing a project;
  • Creates and implements design briefs for campaigns and new product launches;
  • Creates print collateral using established templates, new templates, taking collateral from idea to creation;
  • Creates banners, in-store signage, POP/POS material;
  • Collaborates with peers on full line catalog projects (USA & Canada);
  • Collaborates with printers to coordinate final products – managing deadlines, obtains and reviews print samples, paper, press schedule, and print type;
  • Coordinates with Product Management/Marketing to collect information and materials;
  • Organizes and manages digital assets such as images and videos;
  • Designs one-off projects to support product launches, shows, campaigns;
  • Designs compliant labels for products in the USA and Canada;
  • Develops product packaging/boxing to protect product and provide useful information for retailers and consumers;
  • Manages the portfolio of product-related collateral such as Product Guide Books used by sales team and in-store product-specific signage;
  • Captures static product shots for print and online usage;
  • Prepares presentation materials consisting of charts, graphs and illustrations for executive team;
  • Performs other required tasks as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or specialized education institution wherein graphics, art photography or illustrative artwork subjects were learned; and two (2) years experience in the mediums and industries in which Festool operates;
  • Such experience as described above can be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to integrate spreadsheets with InDesign (price lists);
  • Familiarity with Plan-0-Gramming/Merchandising;
  • Web design;
  • Develop pieces for digital and print media;
  • Experience in HTML;
  • Macromedia Dreamweaver or Adobe GoLive;
  • Videography – capture, edit, and post videos (direct concept videos);
  • Experience working within Corporate Guidelines (CDI) – Brand Management compliance;
  • Good understanding of interactive design principles and online branding issues;
  • Ability to collaborate with a team as well as work independently;
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment;
  • Attention to detail.
